Furniture Photography Inspired by Nature: The journey to the Outdoors in Commercial Product Photography
For us At Nimkat Studio, furniture photography emerged as an exciting sideline to our main focus on architectural photography. In this article, we’ll take you behind the scenes of one of our most epic experiences—bringing a vision to life with furniture photography inspired by nature. As pioneers of staged commercial product photography in Iran, we dreamed of capturing furniture pieces in natural environments, and in collaboration with a forward-thinking client, we made it happen.
The Adventure Begins: Hitting the Open Road The timing was perfect: late summer, with nature at its greenest. Ghazaleh and I set off in one car, followed by our client’s team and a truck filled with beautiful furniture. Our mission? To find landscapes that would enhance each piece, showcasing the products in a fresh, inspiring way. With no fixed location in mind, we simply hit the open road, stopping only when we found breathtaking backdrops that truly highlighted each item’s design. Framing Fame, Snapshots that Sell and Shine!
Our goal was to create eye-catching commercial product photography fit for catalog covers, website imagery, and wall posters. Some photos were so surreal that viewers found them almost unbelievable. One standout shot featured a dining table set in the middle of a river, so striking that some thought it was AI-generated—even though this was back in 2019, before AI photography tools were widely available. Of course, we applied enhancements to every image, staying true to my belief that post-production is just as important as the production itself.
Even now, in 2024, these photos continue to stand out. Whether for print or digital marketing, they’re as impactful and visually stunning as ever. This project brought our vision of furniture photography in natural settings to life, setting a new standard for commercial product. photography that blends seamlessly with nature.
